This is a more common issue with older laser printers most newer ones allow duplex printing. Dock > System Preferences > Print and Fax Choose the main printer from the left menu Click Printer Setup If possible, choose the double-sided printing. One more caveat: you can't feed a piece of paper that's already been printed on through some laser printers without jamming them, because paper can't handle going through their printing process twice. Experiment with a couple of pages first, before you print a large document. In my case (latest firmware, latest driver, Mojave) the 2-sided option is consistently greyed out. Select: Print under File on top of Mac desktop (Any Web page in safari will do).
This is how I fixed it for this latest driver: 1. Must have Duplex function turn on and that too was grayed out.

Yes, the User Guide on page 81 says 'supports manual 2-sided printing.' This does not appear to be implemented in the Mac OS version of the driver, or it is not clear how to enable it. I actually referred to Windows 10 and loved the latest driver for my refrigerator. This broke my 2 sided printer function (2 sided print choice grayed out).
